sista friend.

This is my sister Jessica. She is really pretty. Besides that, she came up to Provo this weekend and hung out with me for a little bit and it was SO fun. We watched UNLV ALMOST beat the coogs, we ate lots and lots of food, and we hung out with some of my old Vegas friends who were quite surprised to see little Jessi all grown up. One of my friends even secretly tried to hit on her... don't worry I sent him packing! Here are some reasons why I love Jessi:
-She lets me hang out with her when I come home
-She lets me borrow her clothes... well after the fact that I already am wearing them... whoops
-She sometimes shares her giant bed with me (after all, it was mine before it was hers!)
-She has really pretty hair
-She is extremely spoiled but I don't care because it usually benefits me!
-We had to share a room from basically birth to halfway through my freshman year of HS and we didn't kill each other! We did come close tho...
-She acts very angelic but when we're alone she does some really strange/hilarious things (kitty katty anyone??)
-We have lots of inside jokes where we just say one word and laugh at each other
-She supports me in everything
-Everyone says we look alike and even though I don't see it, I take it as a compliment because Jessica is gorgeous
-She's ridiculously smart and always gets good grades and makes me feel dumb... but I still love her for that!
-She shares in my passion for rebs and we have had many good times sitting together in the front row three... and at rebs trips that turn out to be really amazing and beneficial to our lives
-We didn't fight ONCE during two weeks in Australia! Amazing!
-She has a really big heart and is friends with everyone, even people that don't have a lot of friends
-Even though she cons Boots into writing blogs about her, we both know that I am the favorite daughter in the family!

Pretty much I just love my little sister! She is the best and I miss hanging out with her all the time and I really hopes she chooses to come to this WONDERFUL place we call P-Town for college!

oh how i can't wait...

These boys. Let me tell you how I love them. First of all, they are all dang sexy. Could there be a better looking basketball team? I submit that there cannot... unless you added in Kyle Korver, or any of the Korver brothers for that matter. In that case, I wouldn't be able to control myself. Anyways, these boys just got me more and more excited for this season on Friday night, aka FirstLook 2008. Even though I could do without the 39 minutes of cheerleader and band introductions, it was still a great event, in my opinion. Highlight? Deshawn "DeShow" Mitchell throwing down the rock during warmups... holy smokes, that kid is a high flyer! I'm excited to see him in game action this year. He and Oscar are gonna be a big duo in the coming years. Beas, even though he is like a brother to me, is gonna be a little raw, but just give him time. He's gonna adjust and come out big. Of course my main man Joseph was looking good during the scrimmage, even tho earlier that morning he couldn't hit the side of a barn! I don't think he's gonna be phased by the furthering of the 3, and I certainly cannot wait for that matchup on January 21 when he once again shuts down my old flame JT with a dagger right in his face. Me, Dixon, Jessi and Kori got to go to the real first practice on Friday morning, being the real insiders that we are. Lots of defensive drills. Lots of clapping and running to pick up teammates. Lots of checking out Tre-Will's arms... whoops! Bottom line? I love my Rebels. I've been counting down the days to this season since the day I got back from Australia, and its getting SO CLOSE! Here's to 22 days.

here's the thing...

I'm out of material people. My life is ridiculously tedious at the time, therefore I have nothing exciting to blog about (hence prior tag post). Here is my life these days:
Wake up. Press the snooze button approximately 3 times before actually getting up. Finally get up, get dressed and such and go to class. Drive around for 10 minutes before finding a parking spot. Walk to classroom, then try to stay awake in said class. Go back home and take a power nap/eat lunch before work. Drive to the mall and work at the wonderful buckle for about 4 or 5 hours and then go back home. Eat dinner. Watch tv. Maybe do a little homework. Listen to Jackie and her boyfriend wrestle and yell and scream obnoxiously (sorry j it's my blog I can rant). Listen to Becca talk to her boyfriend/possibly-future-fiance-maybe talk on the phone for hours and hours. Try to read a book but get distracted and resort back to the tv. Spend too many hours watching reruns of MTV reality shows before finally going to bed much too late.
Sounds like a blast, right?
Thank goodness fall break is next week and I get a nice, well-earned 3 day weekend! Well, 4 days without school, but only 3 without work. Still nice. Head back to the 702 for first look practice (don't get me started I can't wait) and a friend's wedding reception (too many of those lately). It will be nice to get out of Utah again. There's something to be said about not being a native Utahn.
I wish I was politically-savvy and could give some sort of inspirational epiphany I had after watching the veep/presidential debates! All I can say is, I like Sarah Palin. She's got spunk. John McCain is a stud, too, even if he can't lift his arms above his shoulders... and Barack has big ears. Oh yeah, and I think its wrong that Michelle Obama was named one of People magazine's top ten most stylish people of 2008... Cindy McCain dresses much better, thanks.
Speaking of fashion, I found some Rich & Skinny (yes, that is the name of the brand and just so happens to be the exact opposite of how I'm feeling at the moment) $152 jeans on sale at Nordstrom for 41 dollars! I was SO excited. They are adorable and I can't wait to wear them with boots this winter (ugh winter. dreaded word).
Songs I'm digging? "Human" by the Killers. FINALLY a solid Killers song after their last album was a disappointment. "Love Lockdown" by Kanye West, he's taking a crack at singing a little and its not bad! Last but not least, "Womanizer" by my girl Britney. The Spears is makin' a come back, ya'll!
And last but not least, by brother commented that the picture of my past love in my last post made him sick. D, this one, spotted in the Marriott Center parking lot, should have the exact same effect.

Gary's Texaco

Me and Ally were on our way back from Vegas this weekend when the car suddenly got really loud and the road really bumpy. We pulled over to the side and realized that her driver's side front tire had completely blown out... like torn to shreds. We had no idea what happened and were basically in the middle of nowhere between St. George and Cedar City. I called AAA, but the dumb lady on the phone couldn't figure out where I-15 was... seriously. Luckily, a couple guys stopped and helped us change the tire, and so we rolled into Cedar on the thinnest donut i've ever seen. Since it was about 7 on a sunday night, we struggled to find a place to replace the tire. Even the Walmart mechanic wasn't open! We didn't want to go all the way back to Provo on the donut, since you can only go 50 mph on it, so we persevered and stopped at an Auto Zone, which was basically the only place open in Cedar. The guys there were really nice and called their mechanic friend at a local gas station, Gary's Texaco. They gave us directions and we headed to the outskirts of town to this old, beat up gas station on a deserted road. It was super old, like the candy in the store had dust on it and looked like it was from 1984 and the soda cans were ancient! Dale was there to meet us, and he was just the sweetest soul ever! He searched and searched for the right tire to help us, but he didn't have it. He said we could go to Walmart and buy a tire and he would stay open for us. So, we headed back to the exact opposite of town for the Walmart. Vivian, the auto care specialist, was super nice and had to literally break into the shop to get us the tire. Her manager came over and got on her case for setting off the alarm but we told him our story and he ended up helping us. Gotta love the Walmart employees, so kind! After getting the right tire (for a low walmart price, nonetheless) we went back to our friend Dale and he proceeded to fix the break. Sweet Dale, I wish I would've taken a picture of him... he was missing a front tooth and was going bald and had the thickest Southern Utah accent I've ever heard! He was so nice to stay open late and help us. I would totally recommend him to anyone in the Cedar area for all your auto care needs! We finally arrived in Provo after a 9 hour total trip... talk about a good time!

Moral of the story: Don't blow your tire anywhere in Utah on a Sunday! Actually, just don't blow your tire at all... it's not much fun :)
