catching up.

-I'm a sucker for American Idol... I get so depressed when it ends! I was very happy with the results... actually I like both the Davids so I would've been happy either way!
-I'm kinda sad both SLC shows are sold out... I wanted to go again this year!!
-My brother is getting married in 4 days. CRAZY.
-I finally got a job! I am now employed at the Buckle at the University Mall. Come visit me! I'm so excited to start work and get off the couch. Pretty much all I've been doing for the past month is catching up on Real World reruns and watching ANTM marathons... like so.

-I also watched the first season of 24! SO GOOD! I can't wait to start the second. Nina Meyers is a traitor.
-I swear to you that every team I root for in the NBA playoffs is gone!! Suns... then Jazz... then Hornets and Cavs. I HATE the Spurs and the Lakers with all my heart and I have never been much of a Pistons fan. I suppose I'll have to go for the Celtics...oh wait, now that I said that, they'll probably lose!
-ONE MONTH TILL AUSTRALIA!! And still so much to do...
-I found an amazing hair girl up here! I'm so picky about my hair and she did it just as good, if not better, than my girl in Vegas! Now I just have to figure out how to do it for the wedding...
-I'm really excited for my sisters to come this week! I've missed them!

-I've been addicted to a few songs in the past while:
One step at a time- Jordin Sparks (very empowering!)
Lucky-Jason Mraz and Colbie Calliat (cutie love duet... someone needs it for their wedding song)
Do Right-Mario (inspirational tune about overcoming the hood... love that stuff)
I Only See You-Benton Paul (he's amazing)
Always Be My Baby-David Cook (idol winner... love the rock version)
ANYTHING Carrie Underwood
All the songs in Dixon and Shay's wedding video... it's fabulous but I've had to watch it about 20 times to make sure it's all ready for wednesday!
-Speaking of the wedding vid, I've been going through lots of old pictures to get it together... this is one of my favorites. I love my cousins! I have the best family!

sunday school goodness!

Sunday was the first day in our new ward, and for some reason we decided to go to Marriage Prep class (no, I am not engaged, or even dating anyone for that matter). The lady that taught was a sweet older woman that was the first counselor's wife, and she gave the best lesson. Luckily for us, the lesson was more on dating rather than marriage. One thing that I thought was interesting was how she talked about becoming the person you need to be before you can find the person to spend eternity with. Living in MarriageVille USA has made me a little down on myself lately, since the last guy I seriously dated was a little over a year ago. Like probably all single girls in this town, you get kinda lonely when you see couples taking walks and holding hands. This lesson really made me realize that I have some work to do on myself before I can really be ready to share my life with someone. As cheesy as it sounds, I have to learn to love myself before I can truly love someone else. It's hard to constantly be around gorgeous girls that are a size 4 and have perfect hair. It's hard to be taller and thicker and just plain different than everyone else. But you know what? I wouldn't change myself for anything. I'm starting to see that God made me who I am for a reason, and I am grateful for that. It's been a battle for me this last year to accept the fact that I'm never gonna be a size 2 or look like Jessica Simpson or any of the girls on America's Next Top Model. So What? How is anyone gonna love me if I don't love myself?! It's been quite the discovery for me. I think it's amazing how sometimes you hear exactly what you need to hear in a place where you aren't supposed to be. The sunday school teacher didn't know anything about me or my struggles as of late, and yet the lesson was basically tailor made to my needs. Tender Mercies, as Elder Bednar called them. Gotta love it!

P.S. This post was basically for me... thanks for listening.

First off, yesterday we had the most AMAZING thunderstorm! Seriously, it was pouring, and the thunder was so loud. I loved it! Me, Ally and Courtney had to go frolic in it and celebrate the fact that it was actually raining and not snowing. Huge development.

Vegas was amazing! Jackie's little brother had a birthday party and these zoo people came and brought all these exotic animals, including this beast! I am absolutely terrified of snakes... I literally clung onto Sam's arm when they brought this out. No joke. The best part about it was the actual guy, he had a tail of hair down to his butt. He was fantastic!

Shaylee's bridal shower was a blast. Janae decorated so cute and the food was fantastic... I probably gained about 10 pounds from the cake and cookies! Wonderful adventures were had Friday night by me, Jackie, and Sam... more on that another time. Saturday was spent lounging by the pool with the fam. I actually remembered to put sunscreen on this time and my nose still fried.

Goodbye Jason Castro! We are obsessed with him, dreads and all. So sad to see him go. I like all of the final three contestants, but I think it's gonna be the Davids in the finals for sure. Archuletta's got it in the bag, he could rap and the judges would love it. Kind of ridiculous, but he's very talented.

We played tennis today! It was a blast. I need to invest in a racket. I have much improving to do, but those lessons with Zdenick all those years ago have still not left me! Yay for perfect weather and playing tennis!

I've been working on Dixon and Shaylee's wedding video all week, and its gonna be so cute. If only my brother would send me the songs to put on it, it would be almost perfect (hint hint Dixon if you're reading this...) I can't wait for everyone to see it. Shaylee and Kylee were the cutest little girls ever!

Well thats all for now. Peace peeps.

is it any wonder?

So I'm looking through old pics and I come across this one of my first Halloween. I'm pretty sure that my parents are inspired. Me as a rebs cheerleader... it was fate. From then on, I was destined to follow my rebs with fierce dedication! Thanks Mom & Dad.

PS Nice hair Mom.
