The Great Hambino

It's been an eventful weekend! Our other BFF Sammy came up to visit on friday. We picked her up from the airport and then went to Pizza Factory, where Jackie's cutie boyfriend Mitch is a manager... he's the sweetest. I approve of any guy that will buy dinner for us! Saturday we went to see 27 Dresses (not as good as I thought, but still a cute flick) and then to Sakura for our friend Becca's 21st birthday. It was so fun to get together with all the girls and just hang out. If you are ever in Provo, hit up Sakura... its amazing! It's Benihana-style and the rice is heavenly. Of course it put a huge dent in my wallet but it was worth it!

Sunday we watched some football... my comments on the Pats-Chargers game could take up a whole other post, but needless to say I was very happy with the outcome! We also went with Courtney, Ciji and Becca up to our friend's cabin at Sundance. There was a ridiculous amount of snow so we had to hike to the door of th cabin. On the way, I stepped in a huge snowbank and completely lost my shoe! It was buried and I couldn't find it for the life of me, so I had to walk to the cabin with one bare foot... it was horrible! I think my toes are still frozen. Luckily we had Court's beastly tahoe or else we probably would've been stuck on the mountain all night! We loved having Ham come visit us and we wish she would just move up here already!

A little update...

So I finally got my car back from the shop last monday, after a month and a half! I drove to work and when I was coming home, the headlights weren't working. I got pulled over and almost had a panic attack because I wasn't doing anything wrong and that would've been my third ticket in two months! Luckily, he was a nice cop and just warned me that my headlights and taillights weren't working. So it was back to the shop the next day, where they just fixed a blown fuse on the lights. The next day, I was driving to work when my front left tire blew out! I had to call Triple A and while I was waiting I pretty much had a nervous breakdown. I called my Dad bawling, and he helped me calm down... I have the greatest pops in the world! He has been so understanding during this whole car drama and it's helped me out so much. So the poor little Vue is back at the dealership, waiting for new tires and getting all the kinks worked out. Hopefully I've gotten all the car trouble out of my system for a LONG while!

Rebs had a nice come from behind win tonight. Love them. And I discovered Kyle Korver has two younger brothers that play college ball... what are the chances I can catch one of them? :) I'll keep you posted.

Rebels and Iranians

Well this is Jackie, Alyssa says I need to write on our blog more so here I am.. we just finished watching One Tree Hill/ American Idol, and now we're watchin the Rebs vs. BYU game! One Tree Hill was good, but we think the hot nanny might be trouble in the future... we were real happy about Nathan and Jamie's dinner for Haley, and Nathan shaved! I was excited about that mostly... and Nathan's confrontation with Dan, very Hills, "I want to forgive you, and I want to forget you." American Idol was also really good. We watched with the roomies and ate cookies, kind of a tradish from last year. I love the horrible singers, especially the guy who sang "Let my peo-ple gooo..." And the "No sex for me!" guy was also a favorite.. Little game update, UNLV is KILLIN! We're playing so fantastic, score is currently 12-28.. Curtey is hittin three's like it's nothin! Also Alyssa has decided to call Lee Cummard "Cummey" now, nice little nickname. She also THREW the remote control at the tv and the batteries flew out.. those of you who know her can probably guess why.. (Good ol' Baldy, with his weird shaped cone-head, whoops!) This is such a good game, everyone is on top of it! So fun little story.. the other day I was in the gym at our apartment complex, doin my thing on the elliptical and there is this kid on the machine next to me and one other guy in the gym a row ahead of us on another elliptical. He is older looking, Iranian, and wearing regular street clothes, and going sooooo slow on the machine... this would all be okay if he wasn't also sneaking little glances back at me and the kid next to me! Every couple minutes he would so conspicuously look back at us, and it's not like the gym is big and he has lots of places to look, it's pretty dang obvious he's just looking at us.. and in a real creepy leering way too.. So one time he does it and I look straight back at him so he knows I'm not oblivious to his creepiness and he just looks in a creepy grinny way and it doesn't phase him! He did this the entire time me and the kid were there, whether I was on the elliptical or streatching on the floor or whatever.. I had to leave earlier than I wanted to because I was so creeped out! Gross. Well that's about all I have to say, gotta get back to watching the game! GO REBS!

Back to the Grind...

We've been back at school for over a week now, and it's gonna be a long semester. I'm taking 18 credits plus working 6 days a week, and I'm already exhausted! My Mass Communications professor is a bit interesting... the other day in class he spent ten minutes going on about how everyone in the entertainment industry is communist, and then he said that he believes that the mountains communicate with each other. Odd. Like I said, should be an interesting semester! Tonight I'm going to the Jazz-Suns game up in SLC with my pops and I'm SO excited... my first NBA game! Everyone at work are huge Jazz fans so hopefully the Suns can pull this one out so I've got some bragging rights!

P.S. GO PATS

Oh hey!

So... we decided to enter into the blogging world because I (Alyssa) get extra credit in my english class for having one, and I just couldn't do it alone... enter Jackie, my BFF slash roomie.

So yeah... that's us, but hopefully you already know that and aren't some creeper reading about our very interesting lives. We both go to UVSC, we're both 19, and we both enjoy candlelight dinners and long walks on the beach. I work at the Mayan in Sandy while Jackie stays home and cooks... and no, we are not a les couple, just to clarify. In fact, Jackie acquired a man just last night! Yay for the two day anniversary. I am very single and VERY ready to mingle, hint hint if you know of anyone to set me up with, I'm all for that :) We pretend to be social, but our weekends often consist of trips to sonic and random excursions to Wal-mart in our pajamas. Speaking of, the only time we ever get cat calls is when we're walking through our apartment complex in sweats... what does that even mean?! We've come to the conclusion we are never getting dressed up again. Lately Jackie has to drive me everywhere because I injured my poor little vue about a month ago...

Sad huh? She should be healed soon. Life without a car sucks, but of course we enjoy the extra bonding time! So hopefully our lives will be pretty exciting to read about, but if not, I still get the extra credit, so its a win-win! Check back for more later.

Peace,
AL & JO
